Cost Estimators
Prepare cost estimates for flooring construction and installation project, and to aid management in bidding on and determining price of product and service. Consult with management, clients, vendors, engineers, architects, personnel in other departments, subcontractors, and construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues. Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. Prepare estimates for use by management in preparing bids on projects, and in selecting vendors and subcontractors. Confer with engineers, architects, management, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates. Prepare estimates used by management to plan, organize, and schedule work and staffing. Develop project plans for the duration of the project. Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project. Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects, and tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops. Set up and implement cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures. Establish and maintain tendering process, and assist management to conduct negotiations. Review material and labor requirements to determine most cost-effective means to obtain or produce components. Conduct special studies to develop and establish cost data to effect cost reduction and maximize cost efficiency.
Full-time position located in Pearl City, Hawaii. Forty hours per week, 8:30am to 5pm.
Must have Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Construction Engineering or related field, plus 2 years progressive experience in job offered, or as Construction Engineer with experience in construction project planning and estimating.
